CA Coastal Cleanup 2025
CA Coastal Cleanup Day Sat. Sept. 20th, 12pm - 3pm
More than 1.8 million volunteers have removed over 27 million pounds of trash from beaches and inland waterways across our state.
Come join the world’s largest community science project! Coastal Cleanup Day volunteers collect data on all the trash they remove, leading to real world changes. You will be contributing information to science, creating awareness about the dangers of marine debris, and strengthening your community by spending time together.
This statewide day of cleaning up is more than just an effort to remove the trash. It is a way to protect Earth’s water, air, plants, and animals. Dangerous marine debris causes harm to our oceans, wildlife, and coastal economies.
Coastal Cleanup Day is every day, but it is important to have one big community day each year to collect as much trash and data as we can together. With so many of us who care about the health of our watersheds and oceans working simultaneously this September 20th, our collective small actions will turn into a powerful movement.
Get together with a group of your friends and spend some time outside, removing trash, and making a difference in the habitats around you.
The Bolsa Chica Land Trust is mixing it up this year and we are holding our event from Noon(12pm) – 3pm to coincide with the low tide. This is to ensure maximum trash removal from the wetlands because we can cover more area in the same amount of time. Plus, you get to sleep in
