Important Call to Action from the Executive Director: Saving Banning Ranch
Bolsa Chica is precious, its open space is important for people and animals alike. It took decades of intensive effort by many people to save it. Please join us this October as we support saving another precious piece of open space – Banning Ranch. The issues at Banning Ranch are almost identical to those at Bolsa Chica – Banning is one of the last remaining coastal open space habitat areas, home to endangered species, threatened plant communities, wetlands, vernal pools, grasslands, and significant archaeology. The development plan as it is being presented to the Coastal Commission this October 7 is for 1,375 houses with a hotel and commercial real estate. BCLT supports the Banning Ranch Conservancy’s efforts for the complete preservation of the entire site. We have lost far too much of our open space and wildlife habitat. Banning Ranch needs to be saved, not compromised.
Please call the office at 714-846-1001 or email Kim at Kim@BCLandTrust.org for more information and instructions on how to help.
Thank you for your support of our wild spaces!
